New rules for overseas licence holders

From 1 July 2023, new rules will impact overseas licence holders under an update to the Road Transport (Driver Licensing) Regulation 2017.

The change impacts any overseas licence holder on a temporary visa who arrives from 1 July 2023 onwards and intends to reside continuously for six months or more. If this person wants to continue to drive, they will need to obtain a NSW licence within six months of becoming a NSW resident.

More information on the regulation change will be available via nsw.gov.au/overseasdriver from 1 July 2023.



2023년 7월 1일부터 도로 운송(운전 면허) 규정 2017의 업데이트에 따라 새로운 규정이 해외 면허 소지자에게 영향을 미칩니다.

이 변경 사항은 2023년 7월 1일부터 도착하여 6개월 이상 계속 거주하려는 임시 비자를 소지한 모든 해외 면허 소지자에게 영향을 미칩니다. 이 사람이 계속 운전하려면 NSW 거주자가 된 후 6개월 이내에 NSW 면허를 취득해야 합니다.
